Just announced! We can’t wait for Copper to host World Cup ski events next November! What fun it will be to see the worlds best alpine ski athletes racing down the very same ski runs that we get to ski every day!

Dear Copper Mountain Community,

I wanted to share some exciting news as we enter the New Year! Copper Mountain is set to host men’s and women’s Alpine World Cup events later this year over Thanksgiving weekend. From November 27–30, 2025, the Stifel Copper Cup will showcase women’s Giant Slalom and Slalom events, as well as men’s Super G and Giant Slalom races—an extraordinary opportunity to watch the world’s best alpine athletes compete at our mountain.

As the Athlete’s Mountain, Copper is the perfect place to host an event of this magnitude. Our teams are already experienced with preparing world-class training and competitive venues. Every fall and spring, alpine athletes from around the globe visit Copper to train on our full-length downhill venue. These competitors are well acquainted with our mountain, and I can’t wait for the world to see what makes Copper such a special place for ski racing.

The timing of this event is particularly exciting as local athletes like Mikaela Shiffrin and River Radamus will use these races to build momentum for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. This event will also be the first domestic alpine race of the 2025-26 World Cup season. Hosting an event of this scale is no small task, but it’s a testament to the strength of our resort staff, the quality of our facilities, and the incredible support of our community.

This will be the first time Copper has been the primary venue for an alpine World Cup event, marking a significant milestone in our resort’s history. As some of you may recall, Copper has stepped in to host three previous alpine World Cup events in 1976, 1999, and 2001 when the original venues for these competitions could not fulfill their role as hosts due to snow conditions.

With Copper’s close proximity to Denver, this is a rare opportunity for our homeowners and guests to experience the excitement of world-class ski racing firsthand. Over the coming months, we’ll share more details about the event, including ways you can get involved, spectator information, and volunteer opportunities.

This event represents an incredible achievement for Copper, and I look forward to working together as a community to make it a success.

Best regards,
Dustin Lyman
